HERBS & MINERALS FOR ANXIETY AND SLEEP
Herbs
Lemon Balm extract or tea from leaves. Doctor recommended.
Valerian root. (Grew this in my garden, and saved and dried the roots)
Kava Kava – From thE South Pacific. Can be very relaxing but also potentially stimulating depending on variety, strength, personal reaction.
Kanna – Helps with Depression. An ice plant type succulent from South Africa. Mesembrine.
Kratom – A tree from Indonesia, Mitragyna speciosa. Has both anxiety-releving (anxiolytic) properties and stimulating ones. Not always good before sleep.
Cannabis – High CBD strain such as Mango and Diesel (C. indica) create a much different, less anxiety-promoting than sativa strains. Important to titrate dosage to gauge reaction (thus smoking – via vaporizer to save lungs – rather than taking orally). Evidence of neuro-protective properties, appetite-promoting.

California Poppy – good for helping to fall asleep. Mild.

Mulungu (powder made from bark of a tropical tree)

Mineral Supplements
Magnesium: Natural Calm by Natural Vitality (Magnesium citrate. Doctor recommended) – also good for muscle cramps and energy, constipation.
Black Strap Molasses: Folk remedy. Has good mix of minerals. Also good for constipation. Women especially benefit from the iron.
